Never been on an overnight train before, this was an experience from Seattle to Chicago. You will be late the question is, how late? All this said, I think I prefer the slow time of train travel to flying. Throw away the schedule oil tankers in North Dakota have the right-of-way. Don't make any reservations along the route that cannot be altered as you go. Everyone has stories, some even worse, about the punctuality of the train. The one horrendous drawback is we were 7 1/2 hours late to Chicago and 5 hours late getting home. Meals are included, and the dining car is always a great place to meet interesting people whether you want to or not. The roomette was too small for my wife and me but worth the price for privacy and avoiding the chaos in Coach. Service aboard the train is very good and attentive. This is an incredible journey from Seattle to Chicago, and if you know the landscape of this nation, much of it is nondescript but nevertheless interesting. This is a train trip that takes over two days with accommodations in a room or roomette if you are willing to pay for them.

I'm not sure where to put this review so people can read it.
